Ajman Port & Customs Department is a government entity under Ajman Government that was restructured by an Amiri Decree #15 on December 6, 2011, it is an entity with complete legal authority to engage in all specialized activities whether legal, financial, or administrative to obtain the goals that it has been tasked with. As per government directives, the Port of Ajman seeks to develop itself using all available means such as modern tools and techniques to upgrade, restructure, and modernize all facilities of the port with the goal of increasing efficiency and effectiveness to achieve a better standard of quality and unique services to serve all of our customers (companies, importers, exporters, etc.).
The Government of the Emirate of Ajman, has laid down the foundation of goals to improve government services which were specified by His Highness the Ruler of Ajman Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Noaimi and Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Noaimi in Ajman 2021 Vision which focuses on a happy society which builds a green economy with the support of a distinguished government that is in sync with the spirit of the union.

Ajman Ports started out as a small dock and rapidly advanced to be able to cater to the global economy, currently Ajman Ports is one of the main facets of maritime transport and the nucleus of maritime economic activity in the Emirate of Ajman.
The city of Bejaia is located on the foot of Mount Gouraya and the shoreline extends to the Cape of Carbon. It is situated 180 km east of the National Capital City of Algiers. The port is managed and operated by Enterprise Portuaire d’Bejaia.
The depth of sea waters in such berths ranges from 9 up to 14 meters, while its total length is 7837 meters. Such berths are provided with modern equipment and installations for cargo handling and stowage, in addition to carrying it from the port, also forklift and other electronic lifts of different types, some of which are of 3.2.15 tons capacity. Moreover, lifts for unloading grains, receiving dock with a length reaching 4000 meters and the sea depth along the dock ranging between 4.5 and 6 meters.

Ajman Ports & Customs also supervises maritime activities in the Emirate of Ajman. The Port of Ajman is the land and sea area that is used by ships and other marine vessels to dock, to load or unload cargo or passengers in any of the following areas such as the harbor, the docks, the waterways, areas of storage, and any other facilities under the authority and supervision of Ajman Ports. In addition, Ajman Ports & Customs is tasked with implementing the 2002 Common Customs Law of the GCC and its provisions which was ratified and agreed for implementation in the UAE by National Decree #85 signed by the President of the UAE
The port has a channel depth of 13.7 metres which makes it suitable for large vessels and oil tankers (Panamax and Supr-Panamax class ships). The average water depth at the cargo pier and oil terminal is 9.1 metres. The major exports handled by the Port of Bejaia since the early 2000s has been hydrocarbons and petroleum products.

Providing a safe passage to the container ships and maintenance services are major priorities of this port. The port has a storage yard coverage of almost 18000 square metres and an open container ground of 400,000 square metres. Bejaia port is the only port in Algeria that has the authority of handling dangerous goods, with 6 hangers of 140,000 square metres each.
