The only multi-purpose seaport on the eastern coastline of the United Arab Emirates, the Port of Fujairah is also strategically located just 70 nautical miles from the Strait of Hormuz, providing essential access to worldwide trade and fulfilling the marine requirements of the global shipping industry.
The Port of Fujairah has grown to become a vital, all-inclusive resource for the maritime sector, under the patronage, vision and support of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Ruler of the Emirate of Fujairah and a Member of the Supreme Council of the UAE. Strategic investments in the Port’s infrastructure, its state-of-the-art facilities, latest technologies and comprehensive support services have enabled it to keep abreast of the ever-changing and increasingly diverse trade and industry developments and stay continually ahead of dynamic market demands, thereby maintaining its world-renowned position as a safe, progressive and highly efficient maritime facility.
The city of Bejaia is located on the foot of Mount Gouraya and the shoreline extends to the Cape of Carbon. It is situated 180 km east of the National Capital City of Algiers. The port is managed and operated by Enterprise Portuaire d’Bejaia.
The depth of sea waters in such berths ranges from 9 up to 14 meters, while its total length is 7837 meters. Such berths are provided with modern equipment and installations for cargo handling and stowage, in addition to carrying it from the port, also forklift and other electronic lifts of different types, some of which are of 3.2.15 tons capacity. Moreover, lifts for unloading grains, receiving dock with a length reaching 4000 meters and the sea depth along the dock ranging between 4.5 and 6 meters.

The Port of Fujairah offers state-of-the-art infrastructure to support the emirate’s key business segments, such as oil storage and trading, aggregate bulking and export, and ship supplies and services. Furthermore, under the concession agreement with Abu Dhabi Ports, the existing infrastructure has been enhanced and Abu Dhabi Ports operating arm, Fujairah Terminals, provides world-class facilities and equipment to service containers, general cargo, RoRo, livestock and cruise ships.
In the last 12 months 4,808 vessels were hosted in the Port, while the total number of vessels arriving at Fujairah Anchorage was 14,774. Fujairah has acquired an excellent reputation as a ‘one-stop-shop’ and has become one of the biggest maritime service hubs in the world.

The port has a channel depth of 13.7 metres which makes it suitable for large vessels and oil tankers (Panamax and Supr-Panamax class ships). The average water depth at the cargo pier and oil terminal is 9.1 metres. The major exports handled by the Port of Bejaia since the early 2000s has been hydrocarbons and petroleum products.

Fujairah Terminals, a wholly owned subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Ports, has exclusive rights to manage all container, general cargo, RoRo and cruise ships in the Port.
